We're looking for a motivated intern to join our Neutron Upper Module team in Auckland. You will support the team by developing Acceptance Test Processes for all actuators across Neutron and improve all traceability of Upper Module components.

Key Responsibilities

We're looking for a motivated intern to join our Neutron Upper Module team in Auckland. You will support the team by developing Acceptance Test Processes for all actuators across Neutron and improve all traceability of Upper Module components. 
This is an opportunity to work on real space technology projects and contribute to missions that are literally reaching for the stars. 
Support the design and develop of mechanisms for the Neutron Launch Vehicle 
Produce documentation such as Test Plans, Test Reports and Manufacturing Plans for Components on the Neutron Launch Vehicle 
Collaborate with engineers and team members across multiple departments 
Participate in team meetings and contribute innovative ideas 
Apply hands-on manufacturing skills to support prototype development 

Required Skills & Abilities

Enrolled in their 3rd or 4th year of a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics or Aerospace) 
Mechanical Design – CAD as well as hand calcs 
Hands on manufacturing skills – metal machining, soldering 
Basic knowledge of harnessing and electrical signals 
Data processing of test results in Python or Matlab 
Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team 
Passion for aerospace, space technology, and innovation 
Knowledge of sensors 
Part of a University Project team (eg FSAE, Rocketry Team, Rover Team) 
Test Engineering experience 
Previous internship or project experience in mechanical engineering or aerospace
