Karbon Experts are practitioners turned advisors. Professionals who have lived the day-to-day operations of an accounting firm and now help other firms operationalize those workflows inside Karbon.
As a Karbon Expert, you will partner with accounting firms to design, implement, and optimize the workflows that power their day-to-day operations in Karbon.
This role combines workflow consulting, implementation leadership, and customer enablement. You will leverage your firsthand experience working within accounting firms and your deep knowledge of Karbon to help customers translate their operational processes into scalable systems within the platform.
Key Responsibilities
Karbon Experts play a key role in helping firms successfully adopt Karbon. While the role includes workflow consulting and template design, it also frequently involves leading or supporting end-to-end implementations, guiding customers through onboarding, configuration, training, and adoption to ensure they achieve rapid time-to-value and long-term success.
Consult on firm workflows: Partner with firm leaders and administrators to understand how their firm operates and translate those processes into structured, scalable workflows within Karbon.
Design work templates: Lead customers through the design and optimization of Karbon work templates to ensure processes are efficient, repeatable, and aligned with accounting firm best practices.
Apply practical industry expertise: Leverage your firsthand experience working within accounting firms to provide real-world guidance on how firms operationalize their services, deadlines, and client work inside Karbon.
Guide best practices: Advise customers on how to structure work, manage capacity, track deadlines, and collaborate across teams using Karbon’s platform capabilities.
Lead or support implementations: Guide customers through onboarding, configuration, and implementation of Karbon, ensuring a structured and successful transition to the platform.
Manage implementation milestones: Help define project milestones, track progress, and guide customers through key stages of implementation to maintain momentum and accountability.
Facilitate onboarding activities: Lead kickoff sessions, discovery discussions, workflow configuration workshops, and implementation working sessions with firm stakeholders.
Ensure configuration accuracy: Support customers in setting up contacts, work templates, and operational workflows to ensure their Karbon environment reflects their firm's processes.
Drive implementation outcomes: Help customers achieve early wins during implementation by prioritizing key workflows and operational processes that demonstrate immediate value.
Deliver training sessions: Facilitate training sessions that help firm teams understand, adopt, and confidently use Karbon workflows, templates, and collaboration features.
Support user enablement: Provide practical guidance that helps teams incorporate Karbon into their daily operations and establish consistent working habits.
Drive adoption across the firm: Work with firm leaders and administrators to reinforce adoption and ensure teams are consistently using Karbon to manage their work.
Guide operational change: Help stakeholders navigate the transition to new workflows and processes enabled by Karbon.
Address adoption challenges: Identify areas where teams may struggle with change and provide practical strategies to support adoption.
Reinforce best practices: Ensure firms adopt scalable processes and working habits that support long-term operational efficiency.
Collaborate internally: Partner with Sales, Implementation, Customer Success, Product, and Support teams to ensure smooth customer handoffs and share insights that improve customer outcomes.
Contribute to continuous improvement: Provide feedback on customer needs, workflow patterns, and implementation challenges to help improve Karbon’s product and services delivery.
Leverage AI to enhance delivery: Use AI tools, including ChatGPT and AI-enabled workflow automation, to support template design, documentation, and workflow optimization.
Required Skills & Abilities
You have experience working within an accounting firm and understand how firms manage client work, deadlines, and team collaboration.
You have deep hands-on experience using Karbon in real-world firm environments.
You are comfortable consulting with firm leaders, administrators, and operations teams to design and improve workflows.
You enjoy translating operational processes into structured systems and workflows.
You have experience guiding teams through operational or technology change.
You are confident facilitating meetings, workshops, and training sessions with customer stakeholders.
You are organized and comfortable managing multiple customer engagements or implementation projects simultaneously.
You have strong communication skills and can translate complex ideas into clear, practical guidance.
You are adaptable and thrive in environments where solutions must be tailored to each firm's unique processes.
You are comfortable working remotely and managing your time independently.
Experience designing or managing workflow processes inside an accounting firm
Experience leading or supporting software implementations
Background in firm operations, practice management, or workflow optimization
Experience facilitating workflow discovery sessions or process design workshops
Experience delivering software training or onboarding sessions
Experience working in startup or high-growth SaaS environments
