From the outset, Graduate Traders are introduced to our fast paced and dynamic trading environment and are assigned stimulating and interactive projects to build upon their knowledge and understanding.
You will initially complete our specially designed rotational training programme to teach you about all aspects of trading and will then be assigned to the desk which best suits your skillset and approach to trading.
As a Graduate Trader you will be working closely with our Senior Traders, giving you the opportunity to learn from some of the most experienced in the business. In addition, you will participate in classes covering a rigorous syllabus of options theory and attend regular mock floor-trading sessions in a collaborative and unique environment.
Graduate Traders rotate across different desks giving the added benefit of exposure across the markets in which the market making team operates. This is an exceptional opportunity to gain an understanding across a wide range of products.
Innovation is key to our business and Graduate Traders have the opportunity to add value from the outset. Mako's structure encourages a culture of exploration, challenge and learning.  Working on various projects throughout their rotations and having access to a wealth of knowledge across the business. This is the ideal environment for sharing knowledge and generating ideas to drive our business forward.
At Mako, we want to ensure you to have the best possible experience. To support this, we have outlined what the recruitment process will look like, so you know what to expect at each stage:
Once you apply, we’ll send you an online test. Find a calm, distraction-free environment and complete it as soon as you can — this is your chance to show us your quick-thinking maths and problem-solving skills.
If you pass the test and fit the job profile, we’ll invite you to the next stage: completing a short task to showcase your interest in the role.
Successful candidates will then be invited to an assessment day. This will include a range of interactive activities spread across the day, giving you the opportunity to showcase your skills and meet the team.
If you’re successful at the assessment day, we’ll invite you to a final-stage panel interview with our Senior Traders.
Offers will be made to successful candidates once all final interviews have been completed.

Important: Throughout the process, all communication will be sent by email, so please make sure to regularly check your junk/spam folder to avoid missing any updates.
If you require any support or adjustments during the application process, or have any questions, please contact hrsydney@mako.com.
Only candidates with full Australian working rights will be considered for this role. We cannot accept visa holders at this time.
