Key Responsibilities

As a Counsellor, you will provide short-term, solution-focused therapy to our members within a stepped care model. You will work with diverse individuals across various age groups and cultural backgrounds, supporting them with mental health challenges through online counselling sessions.
This role involves delivering six counselling sessions per day, helping members develop self-management strategies and achieve positive mental health outcomes. You will be supported by a multidisciplinary team, with access to monthly supervision and escalation pathways when needed.
This is a permanent position, and we welcome both full-time and part-time candidates (minimum of four days per week). Saturdays will form part of the regular working week for this role.
This position requires you to be based in Western Australia, working remotely while being connected to our Sonder HQ in Sydney.
Deliver short-term, solution-focused therapy to members within a stepped care model.
Conduct six online counselling sessions per day
Work with members from diverse backgrounds, providing culturally safe and inclusive support.
Assist members in developing self-regulation strategies and achieving their mental health goals.
Consult with internal and external health and wellbeing providers to implement individualised care plans.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive case notes in compliance with best practice standards.
Engage in regular clinical supervision, training, and quality assurance activities to ensure high professional standards.

Required Skills & Abilities

A minimum Bachelor's degree in Counselling from Australia or New Zealand.
Valid registration with a professional body such as PACFA- Clinical, ACA - Level 3 or above
Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in 1-2-1 therapy sessions with adults. This should include conducting assessments, developing individualised treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each individual. 
Demonstrated experience in evidence-based counselling
Minimum of 400 hours of documented counselling instruction and 140 hours of delivered therapy.
Completion of a minimum of 40 hours of recorded therapy during course placement.
A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on quality care and evidence-based practice.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and escalate concerns when necessary.
Resilience and adaptability in managing complex situations.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
