Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a Director, Public Relations & Communications to build and lead a high-impact PR and communications engine that elevates Horizon3.ai’s brand, strengthens our market narrative, and accelerates demand.
In this role, you will own end-to-end press relations, corporate communications, and executive visibility for Horizon3.ai. You will develop and execute integrated communications strategies that position our executives and subject-matter experts as category-defining voices in offensive security, AI-driven automation, and modern cybersecurity operations.
You will work closely with Marketing, Executive Leadership, Product, Customer, and People teams to drive cohesive storytelling across press, analysts, social, speaking opportunities, and events. This is a highly visible, strategic role with direct impact on brand awareness, mindshare, and pipeline.
Own Horizon3.ai’s global PR and communications strategy across earned media, thought leadership, and key company moments
Define and evolve the company narrative, messaging architecture, and positioning in the cybersecurity and AI landscape
Build integrated communications plans aligned to product launches, campaigns, funding moments, and major events (e.g., RSA, Black Hat)
Partner closely with executives to develop and scale their external presence (media, speaking, social media, bylines)
Shape executive platforms that reinforce Horizon3.ai’s point of view and category leadership
Provide guidance and preparation for high-stakes moments including media interviews, keynotes, and sensitive communications
Lead strategy and performance of PR agencies across regions
Set priorities, manage budgets, and ensure agency output aligns with company goals and narrative
Establish clear KPIs and hold partners accountable to outcomes
Partner with Product Marketing and Management, Channels, Demand Gen, Sales, Customer, and People teams to ensure consistent storytelling across all channels
Act as the central point of alignment for external messaging across press, web, social, and customer communications
Develop and maintain crisis communication frameworks and response plans
Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership in sensitive or high-risk situations
Ensure thoughtful, consistent, and timely responses across internal and external audiences
Drive strategy and execution for the analyst relations function, aiming at expanding awareness and validation for our category and our leadership position
Expand our current analyst relations to other analyst and analyst houses
Define success metrics for PR and communications (share of voice, message pull-through, executive visibility, influence on pipeline)
Use insights to refine strategy, messaging, and prioritization

Required Skills & Abilities
8–12+ years of experience in PR, corporate communications, or related roles within B2B technology (cybersecurity strongly preferred)
Proven experience owning PR strategy and executive communications at a high-growth company
Strong ability to operate as a strategic advisor to senior leadership
Experience managing agencies and scaling PR programs globally
Exceptional storytelling, messaging, and executive presence development skills
Ability to prioritize, simplify, and focus in a fast-moving environment
Clear, differentiated market narrative
Increased executive visibility and thought leadership presence
Strong agency performance tied to business outcomes
Consistent, aligned messaging across all external channels
Experience working with or at PR agencies; comfortable managing agency partners, budgets, and scopes of work.
Experience with analyst and influencer ecosystems in cybersecurity.
Familiarity with PR and social listening tools (e.g., MuckRack, Cision, Meltwater, Sprout, etc.) and web analytics to connect PR activity to outcomes.
Background in cybersecurity, enterprise IT, or AI/ML domains.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degree a plus, but not required.
We are a fully remote company. This role may require up to 25% travel for key events, media tours, internal offsites, and customer/partner meetings.
Job-related travel expenses are reviewed and must be approved by your manager.
